For those seeking a more challenging route to the summit of the Ben, then the CMD offers the finest way to climb the mountain.

A truly spectacular mountain traverse, the route first climbs Carn Mor Dearg, a separate Munro located to the north of the Ben.  From the summit of this mountain, a descent is made to gain the arete, a narrow, rocky ridge, which leads to the summit slopes of the Ben.  Some easy scramblng is required whilst crossing the arete and the views to the north face of the Ben are awe-inspiring.

This day out will remain in your memory forever and does justice to the UK’s highest peak.
